The high Alpine route of the Silvretta is impressive on account of over 32 hairpin bends. From Partenen it links the valleys of the Ill and the Trisanna through the Bielerhöhe pass, where the wild high mountainscape is mellowed by the serenity of an artificial lake: at a height of 2 036m, the Silvretta-Stausee is a reservoir in the opening-out of the pass. From the dam, the view of the surrounding massifs is remarkable.
